Overview
The Timber Trails Micro-School is divided into three segments: Prime Program, Focus Class A-Day, and Focus Classes B-Day. Depending on educational goals, families can register for one, two, or all three segments. Parents can also determine whether to drop off or volunteer on campus. A teacher will plan and lead each classroom and set up the students and families to complete the remainder of the school work at home. For the focus classes, teachers will teach the class comprehensively.
PRIME PROGRAM
Prime Programming will run 9am-12pm at each of our campuses.
The Prime Program will look and operate like a traditional classroom, with classes divided by age. A teacher will run the classes and be responsible for the time. The time will be filled with both academic and enriching experiments, projects, and fun social activities carefully designed for each individual grade level. The at-home work will largely consist of science reading, Bible reading, and verse memorization.
Focus Classes: A-Day
History and Literature
A-Day Focus Classes will run 1pm-3pm after the Prime Program.
Our focuses classes fit a University Model where a teacher comprehensively teaches the students for the week and sets them up to work at home under the guidance of their parents. In the A-Day focus classes, the students remain at grade level for History and Literature. History and Literature complement each other, and at-home work is often intermixed.
Focus Classes: B-Day
Math and English
B-Day Focus Classes will run 9am- 1pm at our Lake Oswego Family Center Campus.
The B-Day will continue to operate with the University Model of classes. However, B-Day will differ from A-Day because the classes will be divided into academic levels rather than strict grade lines. This distinction is most notable with Mathematics. If there is a question about what level a student should go into a teacher will give a placement test.
